This weekend, May 11, G-Shock (G-SHOCK) will hold a mixed sports event "G-SHOCK FAN FESTA 2019-CHALLENGE SPORTS-". The event will take place at "Spor Shinagawa Oimachi," a sports entertainment complex that was the talk of the town last August for its "City Wave Tokyo" artificial surfing facility.
With more attention being paid to sports in the run-up to 2020, the event will be held in a vast space of about 24,000 square meters near Oimachi Station on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. In addition to the aforementioned artificial surfing and bouldering walls, a skate park and dance stage have been specially set up for the event.
The main event contents include contests in which top professional surfers such as Kaito Ohashi, Kianu Kuriu Ueyama, Minori Kawai, Minami Nonaka, and Mahina Maeda, who are candidates to represent Japan in surfing, workshops for beginners in surfing, a skateboarding competition to determine the best U-19 Japanese skater, a dance battle in which teams from dance schools, dance schools, and university students compete, a BMX freestyle demonstration by Rinmu Nakamura, the best representative of Japan, and a soccer workshop for younger children by Yuji Nakazawa, former Yokohama F-Marinos player.
