Fragment Design and John Smedley collaborate for the first time. A phantom model updated to a special edition.

I've been wearing these pack T's heavily in the summer and have grown attached to their crumpled look, but I thought it was about time I switched from T-shirts to knitwear.

The release of the new collection will be timed perfectly with the collaboration between "FRAGMENT DESIGN," presided over by Hiroshi Fujiwara, and the British knitwear brand "JOHN SMEDLEY. This will be their first collaboration.

The result is a gem that echoes the words of Muneyoshi Yanagi, who said, "Beautiful things come from a beautiful mind and the absence of artificial ideas.

The knit is based on Hiroshi Fujiwara's now discontinued high-gauge crew-neck knit made of Sea Island cotton, which he has been using on a regular basis. The rib width at the neck and details around the neck have been adjusted to make it easier to wear alone.

The intarsia knitting on the back under the left armpit looks as if it were cut out of tape, and the personal name tag attached to the inside is a point of interest.

The fresh design follows the archival logo used 20 years ago, mixed with the well-known lightning bolt mark of "Fragment Design".

At first glance, the look is simple, but Hiroshi Fujiwara is the only one who has the sense to overwrite a phantom model with a modern silhouette and a small spoonful of design.
