Large forest fires in Australia have been continuing since September 2019. Still showing no signs of being extinguished, more than 14.5 million acres ( approximately 58,600 square kilometers ) of forest has been lost. It is estimated that up to 1 billion mammals, birds, and reptiles in nature have been affected by the fires, of which millions have been killed.
These wildfires, which have caused extensive damage to both humans and animals, are finally gaining recognition here in Japan as various people are sending out information on social networking sites.
Keane's initiative will be one of them.
For eight days from Monday, January 14, 10% of all purchases made at Keen stores will be donated to the Dunmore Fire Brigade, a team of volunteer firefighters in New South Wales, Australia, to support their efforts to fight forest fires.
Keane must probably say that they don't mind if the money and donations to Australia go through a different route. They want nothing more than to raise awareness and support for this tragedy.
