House and disco, the connection between the two has somehow been forgotten, and disco has become detached from the mainstream of dance music. The one-night-only event "MARK E & YOUNG MARCO" will be held on June 10 (Fri.) at CONTACT in Shibuya to teach people how to enjoy disco as an ongoing music in the modern age.
From the UK, Mark E, who runs the music label MERC, and Yong Marco, known for his core activities with Rush Hour Records and Red Light Radio from Amsterdam, will visit Japan. Also appearing will be 5ive, who travels the world as a member of the high-fidelity sound duo COS/MES. Other music freaks who support Tokyo's night scene will also participate one after another. They will support the party from the lounge.
On the same day, Mark E will play at "vendor Friday Evening" held irregularly by "vendor Nakameguro" from 7pm. Free entrance and free beer! It is also a great opportunity to enjoy shopping while having a drink and being surrounded by good music.
Incidentally, in an interview with a free newspaper produced by vendor, Mark E. said the following
I don't think real music is expendable. When I am faced with music production, I am always conscious of music that can be listened to even after a long period of time. Just as I fall in love with old disco, I want to create music that everyone can enjoy even after 20 years.
With diverse music genres being born one after another, let's fully enjoy the universal and potential appeal of disco at both venues.
