An exhibition by up-and-coming New York painter Justin Hager is currently on view at SALT AND PEPPER!

HUNNY MOON," an exhibition by New York-based painter Justin Hager, opens today on the second floor of the gallery and store SALT AND PEPPER!

Canvases and drawings, including new works painted for this exhibition, will be on display and for sale.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Justin Hager, who is the star of the show, here is a brief introduction.

Growing up in the small town of Bakersfield, California, he spent his youth skateboarding, thrift store hunting, listening to records, watching movies from the 80s and 90s, and eating fast food. The complex mixture and intertwining of the many emotions he cultivated such as fun, anxiety, rebelliousness, and hope is Justin's unique style.

This is the same theme that runs through his latest work, "Hunny Moon," which looks at the darker side of life and spotlights eccentrics, losers, vagabonds, and characters on the brink of sanity. Placing them in honest and normal situations makes them a little more approachable, and fills the seemingly dark and dangerous with pop and hope.

A new zine and merchandising featuring the "Salt and Pepper" logo designed by Justin will also be available at the same time.
