Marine plastic debris is currently a global problem. It is estimated that 15 tons of it is being discharged into the ocean every minute, seriously affecting marine life.
A watch brand from Stockholm, Sweden, was launched to solve this social problem.TRIWAThe watch was made from marine plastic waste under the theme "Time for Oceans. "Time for Oceans" was the theme of the project, and the watches were made from plastic trash from the oceans.
Each ¥15,000+tax
The case and strap are made of 100% recycled ocean plastic produced by #tide Ocean Material in Switzerland. The production process, in which solar energy is used to granulate ocean waste and then re-mold it into watches, is a clear sign of care for the earth.
The dial and caseback are decorated with a wave design, and the hands are designed to resemble buoys, all of which remind us of the sea. The crown is engraved with a smiley face, adding a playful touch to the design. 10 ATM water resistance is another nice feature.
Each is available in four colors inspired by the ocean: deep blue, dark green, orange, and gray.
Incidentally, the packaging is also made from recycled paper. We admire the power of this idea to make a beautiful watch and save the oceans at the same time. The watches are now on sale at Toriwa stores and the official online store, and will go on sale nationwide from June 12 (Fri.).
