The "interior goods" collection is not bound by genre or country, but rather by the sensibility of the representative, Mr. Takahiro Goko.Swimsuit Department". The "Stig Lindberg - Seibu Wrapping Paper Exhibition" will be held from July 23 (Thu.) at the actual store "BATHHOUSE".
Stig Lindberg (1916-1982) was one of the leading Swedish designers of the postwar period. His activities ranged from ceramics to industrial design such as television sets. Drawing, in particular, was his forte, which he incorporated into playing cards and picture books.
The paper and gift boxes on display in this exhibition are the wrapping paper and gift boxes he created for the Seibu Department Store in Japan. The motifs are based on the people who gather at the department stores and the products that are displayed there, and these warm designs were very popular at the time.
Rare pottery and playing cards will also be on display. This is an opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with the gems that Mr. Goko has been steadily collecting for more than a decade. Don't miss it!
