Holiday Works is a vintage clothing store in Yutenji, Tokyo. The owner, a hardcore Giants fan, started the "HOLIDAY WORKS BASEBALL CLUB" baseball team out of a desire to contribute to the baseball world in some way.
And now, a special-order item created based on the concept of fan goods for such a baseball team has appeared. We asked a popular brand that is a professional in this field to produce items that can be used at baseball games and that would be nice to have as cheerleading goods.
The lineup includes a purse bag by TEMBEA, a tenugui hand towel by Kamawanu, and a cap by Fool So Good. Let's check out the details of each item.
Drawstring bag ¥5,500+TAX
First up is a drawstring bag based on an in-line model by the bag brand Tenbear, but updated to be large enough to hold all the goods needed to watch the games. During the production stage, the size of the bag was adjusted by actually placing a Happi, uniform, towel, wallet, cell phone, and other small items in it. The bag can be worn on the shoulder like a one-shoulder bag or on the diagonal, allowing the wearer to enjoy his or her favorite style, and it also has a functional aspect in that it frees up both hands when watching the game.
Tenugui hand towel ¥1,200+TAX
Kamawanu, a company that aims to create products that will be loved 100 years from now and is based on traditional Japanese culture, uses a technique called shizome, in which all the work is done by hand by craftspeople. Because the dye is applied to the inside of the threads, the fabric does not become stiff and is highly absorbent, making it easy to dry and useful as an alternative to a towel for wiping sweat or hands. Of course, it can also be worn around the neck or head as a coordinating accent!
Cap ¥3,800+TAX
The baseball cap, an indispensable item for baseball cheerleaders, is a special order from Fool's Good, led by Moja of the comedy trio Lionhead, with whom we have long had a close friendship. The mascot rabbit embroidery sits in the center of the cap, and the finish is simple and ideal for city use. It is available in two colors, navy and hickory.
Each item will be available for pre-sale at the pop-up store at "NEWoMan Shinjuku" and at "Huinames" from 11:00 a.m. on August 11 (Tue.). The lineup is sure to be enjoyable even for non-baseball fans, so be sure to check it out.
