Finding the boundary between excess and deficiency, this is the key element of design.
In this respect, the collaboration between "FRED PERRY" and "ART COMES FIRST," now in its second season, has struck the perfect balance.
Self-described as "traveling tailors," "Art Comes First" aims to create pieces with an unwavering respect for craftsmanship while at the same time looking to the future. In their words, "Tradition and heritage are not new in this world. Learning what has been done before us can suggest the future. We believe it is 360 degrees of creativity." This is also what they mean by
The collaboration was, of course, based on items from , mixing modern tailoring with classic and sharp details. They were also influenced by rude boys in both tailoring and attitude. Rude Boy is ska and two tone, but music is the soundtrack for their creative process.
The design treatment, for example, features a large graphic of Art Comes First's iconic scissors and hat printed on the inside of the bomber jacket, and a "LEADER OF THE PACK" patch on the back, which is said to have its origins in punk. patch on the back, which is said to have originated from punk.
The polo shirt also comes with a patch, and is tailored to complement the Fred Perry logo on the chest without interfering with it.
Respecting the base while updating the details. This is truly a textbook example of collaboration and brilliant design skills.
