From February 16 (Thu) at "Shibuya Hikarie 8/COURT", a joint exhibition and sales event "GO KASAMASHIKO via TOKYO: To the ideal crafts hometown - the charm of Kasama and Mashiko" will be held with guest craft artists based in the Kasama and Mashiko areas.
Surrounded by beautiful nature, Kasama City in Ibaraki Prefecture and Mashiko Town in Tochigi Prefecture are known as the home of ceramics and have long flourished as centers of the folk art movement, from crafts such as pottery, woodwork, and glass to dyeing, apparel, and furniture. To convey these wonderful traditions, more than 40 potters will gather in Tokyo to present their works.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be flower and vessel workshops and installations inspired by the local winds. This is a rare opportunity to experience and feel the charm of the Kasama and Mashiko areas in Tokyo. Even if you do not usually come into contact with ceramics, this is a great opportunity to do so.
