Great Books, directed by Takashi Kumagai, opens at "reload," a new facility in Shimokitazawa! Opening exhibition by artist Kyohei Sakaguchi will also be held.

GREAT BOOKS, a bookstore with the theme of "Life with Photography," will open in early April.Online store launchAs we reported in our previous issue of "The New York Times," a long-awaited physical store will open on June 16 (Wed.) in the new facility "reload," which will be newly established in Shimokitazawa!

The opening exhibition will be "Fresh Like This," a solo exhibition by artist Kyohei Sakaguchi.

The exhibition will feature 20 pastel paintings featuring nature in Kumamoto, the artist's base of operations, and will include a road leading to a field, a lake, the sea, and everyday scenes cut out from Sakaguchi's point of view. Prior to the opening of the store, these works will be on display and for sale at the "Great Books" online store.

Not only that, books, photographic works by Takashi Kumagai, the director of this store, and original goods will also be released.

The store was designed by "General Design", which has also designed "Log Road Daikanyama" and "Saturdays NYC Tokyo", and is based on Scandinavian taste, creating a space where visitors can enjoy art in the comfort of their own home.

Vintage furniture such as a Boeh Mogensen book shelf, an Alvar Aalto table, and Isamu Noguchi's Akari make the space even more inviting.

The majority of the facility is open-air, with terraces, benches, and refreshing greenery, and you can enjoy shopping and strolling while feeling the pleasant breeze.
