Home time is becoming more and more important due to the Corona disaster. Interest in vintage furniture is growing as a way to create a comfortable and personal space.
Introduced here is "Chalet Auto," an exhibition and sales exhibition to be held at the "Isetan Shinjuku Main Store" from August 25 (Wed.). As for what it is about, this is a joint project by "ATELIER GALLERY" and "Objet d'art," which both offer furniture in Japan, and will focus on two world-class designers.
One is Charlotte Perriand, a Frenchman who was a close friend of Le Corbusier, and whose "Les Arcs" resort facility at Mont Blanc, which she worked on for 20 years from 1967, advocated "harmony between furniture, architecture, and nature" and had a major impact on the world of interior design.
The other is a Brazilian, José Zanine Caldas. He has worked with such contemporary architectural masters as Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer, and in 1991 was awarded the title of Honorary Architect by the Brazilian Institute of Architects.
What these two have in common is that they have unique ideas to sublimate mere wood into beautiful and delicate pieces. For this project, the lineup focuses on Perrian and Caldas furniture. Perrian's will be a product she designed or selected at "Les Zarc".

There is also an installation that recreates a small room in the hotel "Les Arcs 1800" by Perriand.
