Tarte Optical was founded in 1948 in New York, U.S.A., and first shocked the world by introducing celluloid frames with a high level of design at a time when metal frames were the mainstream.

Furthermore, the company had its own factory in Manhattan, where it made high-quality products and was positioned as a luxury item.

Tart Optical" was the brand of choice for fashionistas, but it was unable to overcome the big "cheap and good" wave of the 60s and went out of business once .......

But it didn't end there. It was in 2017 that the company was reinvented. Richard Tart, a member of the Tart family and involved in manufacturing and marketing, was the driving force behind it.

Based on a number of documents inherited from Mr. Julius, a new "JULIUS TART OPTICAL" was established.

After Tarte Optical discontinued its products, they were reevaluated and became so popular that they were hard to find, even in this day and age of cheap and good products.

In particular, "AR" has remained popular since its initial release as a faithful restoration of the "ARNEL" model, one of the most well-known vintage eyeglasses.

A special special order color is now available for the "AR" brand. The name of the color is "BLACK SMOKE. The special order is placed with POKER FACE, an eyewear select store that offers a wide range of quality products from all over the world.
