Bad Brains Band in DC," the first music documentary film about the American hardcore/punk band Bad Brains, has finally arrived in Japan. Here is the trailer.
Just to add, Bad Brains is an all-black band formed in 1978. The band is known for its legendary live shows that get audiences so fired up that they are banned from live music venues in Washington, D.C. The band has been active since its inception. The band has gone on hiatus, reunited, and changed members, but continues to perform live to this day.
Directed by Mandy Stein ("TOO TOUGH TO DIE"), who documented a Ramones tribute concert, the film follows the band on their 2007 tour. The film also features appearances by such well-known artists as the Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, and Black Flag. The film also features 45 songs along with rare live footage from the 1980s provided by Paul Luckman, director of the documentary "American Hardcore," so it is definitely worth watching and listening to.
The film will be released in theaters nationwide on July 16.
