A native of Clear Lake, Wisconsin, Bruce studied printmaking with a focus on intaglio printing at Pacific Northwest College of Art and now works on branding, invitations, business cards, and letterheads on a 1906 press. And many of its designs are inspired by sacred geometry, mysticism, and the occult.
Nathan, on the other hand, is an artist and illustrator based in Portland, Oregon. He specializes in illustrations and cutouts using simple lines and flat colors, and draws inspiration from pop culture such as comics, sports, and music. His work has been shown in exhibitions across the United States, including Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, and he has a strong relationship with fashion and sports, with clients such as Adidas, Puma, and ACE HOTEL. Incidentally, he was featured along with five other artists at the "Adidas Hoops Collective" held during the NBA All-Star Game weekend in February 2017, where he presented cutouts that evoked the spirit of the All-Star Game.
The exhibition "Prints & Drawings" is an exhibition by these two artists. Bruce will be showing drawings based on the theme of artifacts, while Nathan will be showing prints based on the themes of basketball, skateboarding, hip-hop, and more. Prints, cards, badges, and pins by the two artists will also be available for purchase at the exhibition. An opening reception with the two artists will be held on the first day of the exhibition, Thursday, April 6, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
