VILOVILO," a solo exhibition by artist Kyotaro Suzuki, who continues to work in a wide range of fields including drawing, painting, and manga, will be held.
The presence of fashion designer Yasuhiro Mihara, who is a close friend of the artist, seems to have been a major factor in the holding of this exhibition.
He still has the works from his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 displayed in his home. He is sometimes harsh and at the same time very kind. Even though Mr. Yacchin told me to paint "VILOVILO" now, I couldn't resist the urge to gain experience, and I have been running around to various jobs for 21 years. He came back to learn how to output. All these years, he watched and supported me without saying a word. I am grateful to him. Mr. Mihara says, "It's something I don't understand. Now, at last, we are able to restart. Kyotaro Sueki's "incomprehensible" is back. A new world. Thank you very much.
This solo exhibition will feature approximately 45 works drawn in pencil. 21 years have passed, and a new approach has been arrived at. VILOVILO" will be re-launched with the feelings of both artists.

There are textures, spaces and atmospheres that cannot exist in the material world and exist
Express yourself freely, I feel it's important.
Expressing a world that feels right to you, I think it's important.
I'll know what it means after I draw it.
What I think now is the picture.
I am somewhat tired of the real world,
It can be less fun,
Sometimes it makes me sad.
I looked for a fun world and this is what I found.
I want to be funny.
I'd be happy if someone saw it and found it interesting.
When you start drawing, try to draw something new.
I think it would be a weird space if I decorated it.
I paint just because it's fun.
I want to draw more.

Born in Kyoto in 1978. Interested in manga, illustrations for picture books, and psychedelic paintings since childhood.
1998 Graduated from Kyoto Saga Art College, Graphic Design Course.
1999 Moved his base of operations to Tokyo.
2000 Solo exhibition "VILOVILO" at P-house Gallery. He exhibited works made only with canvas and pencil.
Around this time, he began to feel the importance of stepping outside of the manga framework, and switched from being an aspiring cartoonist to entering the world of art. Drawing inspiration from manga and fairy tales, he began working in a wide range of fields including drawing, painting, manga, and cryanwork.
From 2008 to 2010, he held numerous solo exhibitions in Japan, including "Heavenly Trip" and "Fairy's Way" at Mizuma Action, and participated in group exhibitions abroad in New York, Miami, Beijing, Shanghai, and San Francisco.
In 2013, the show window of the Isetan Shinjuku store, featuring drawings of the phantoms and gods from "Heavenly Trip," received the DSA Spatial Design Award 2014 Award of Excellence.
In 2014, he created the campaign visuals for "RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY TOKYO". In 2017, he presented 100 new works in a solo exhibition at DIESEL ART GALLERY. He continues to be active in a variety of fields, from artwork to commercial work.
He has published more than five books, including his best-known work.
