HOEK is a select store in Harajuku that carries furniture, sundries, and clothing. Looking at the wide lineup of products ranging from tactile items such as crafts and vintage to inexpensive industrial goods, one cannot help but feel a gentle warmth in the assemblage. The store, which has such an axial eye for selection, will hold a pop-up "little store" from July 7 (Thu) to July 31 (Sun), featuring unusual towels.
The towels in the store are divided into two categories according to their characteristics, and both are produced by Daisuke Hinatsu, who was involved in the development of Imabari towels "Hippopotamus.
The first is "Little Sunshine," a towel brand with a special focus on towels. The brand pays homage to the good old days of Fieldcrest's Royal Velvet, which was the inspiration for Mr. Hinatsu to create towels in the first place. The traditional and heavy-duty towels of 1001 TP10T cotton become supple, soft, and comfortable as they are used. Durability is a very attractive quality in consumable towels.
The second is "littlebodco.
This towel is made from the very first thread, which was Mr. Hinatsu's long-cherished wish. The attention to detail is beyond reproach. Under the theme of "let loose," two newly developed blended yarns, ( cotton 70% + bamboo rayon 30% and 70% cotton + linen 30% ), are woven at the lowest possible density. The towels are woven with an unprecedented idea of weaving at the lowest possible density to create a thick, firm pile with a loose, comfortable feel. The edges have a locked finish that defies common sense in the towel industry , creating an overall image of looseness. By folding the towel and wiping it against the skin instead of rubbing it, the overlapping pile gives the towel a fluffy feel and a firm weight that cannot be experienced with a single-ply towel, suggesting a new way of using towels.
Little Sunshine" is hard-edged and traditional, while "Little Bocco" is loose and gentle. Since they are not easily found anywhere else, we hope you will take this opportunity to experience them for yourself at our stores. To be honest, you can't tell the quality of a towel until you touch it. Of course, they also make great gifts.
