Everyone must have seen this mug, which looks like an object or a toy, at least once. However, surprisingly few people know who made it.
The answer is Ecopark Pottery, a studio in Los Angeles. I'll save their identity for later in the article, but let's start with an overview of the event that will be held with 100 of these mags.
The event will be hosted by "The Mag", who has been fascinated by the mag for a long time.swimsuit compartmentThe Bath House is a store operated by
The event will be held from the end of May to mid-July at all three of its stores in Nagoya, Dazaifu, and Shibuya, and will be like a tour by a band, with the mags in tow.
It's time to talk about the producer.
Ecopark Pottery is a studio founded in 1972 by Los Angeles-born artist Peter Scheier. His works often feature collaged geometric shapes and brightly colored glazed pieces, which give off an enchanting atmosphere while stimulating the user's everyday life.
In particular, the mugs produced since the early 1970s, when the company was first established, have become synonymous with the studio's concept of form and design, which has remained unchanged since then. The mugs are easy to hold and stackable, and while they have an impactful appearance, they also excel in functionality.
By the way, the man in the photo with the nice smile is Peter, the head of the studio. He was the only American among the members of "Memphis," the leading Italian postmodern design team of the 1980s.
His work in Memphis led to an expansion of his production to include furniture, large-scale sculpture, interior design, and public art, and he has since worked with materials such as metal, wood, and paper. Among his activities, the pottery he made at "Ecopark Pottery" was at the center of his production.
I've listed a number of mugs that you may or may not have known about, but seeing them in person is the best way to learn about them! So please visit a store near you.
