Photography is a recording medium, though,Yoshiyuki OkuyamaI believe that the photographers of "The Soul of the World" take photographs that package emotions, times, and smells in their entirety. It is more like a "memory" than a record, and because of this, it can be linked in the shortest distance to the area that everyone holds dear in their hearts.

The photographs that still the sparkle of a moment that seems to pass us by while we blink are wonderful, even without the excuses that they are celebrities (although the image attached to it may be important to the enjoyment of the photograph).
The photo book, "Kimi no Sumai Machi" ("Where You Live"), will be released on Tuesday, May 2. A photo exhibition of the same title is also being held at Omotesando Hills from today, April 27 (Thu) to May 7 (Sun).
Instead of forcing yourself to go out and update your Instagram, take your time and look at photos. Why not spend this year's Golden Week in such a way? Oddly enough, beautiful and sad scenes are captured in Polaroid squares that are similar to Instagram's format.

Yoshiyuki Okuyama
Photographer and filmmaker, born in 1991. At the age of 20, he won the Excellence Award at the 34th New Cosmos of Photography, and his 2015 photo book "BACON ICE CREAM" won the 47th Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for Photography.
