A record of Shun Omiyama's 1500km road trip, where he rode his motorcycle while lost and wandering. His new photo book "call, overhaul, and roll" is now available for pre-order.

photographerShun OmiyamaThe first photo book in four years is now on sale. This time, the theme is "getting lost".

Although this word is generally used in a negative sense, Mr. Komiyama reevaluates the sense of the times and the current place where he is, and pursues it as a positive meaning.

. The photographs in the book are the entirety of a road trip. Mr. Komiyama began his journey because he pursued the meaning of "getting lost" in today's society, where efficiency is becoming a justification, and he decided to get lost as much as he could.

The artist rode his motorcycle 1,500 kilometers from Yokohama, where Komiyama lives, to Sapporo, sometimes wandering and sometimes taking side trips. . The title is "call, overhaul, and roll.

Escape from the confinement of society, a funeral for a bereaved best friend, a desire for complete physical solitude, and a desire for the feel of the wind that only a motorcycle can provide.... For Omiyama, this trip, driven by a variety of emotions, was an escape not as a photographer but as a human being, and was never intended to be a photo shoot in itself. As a result, these photographs, which he kept as a record, reveal more strongly than ever Omiyama's own pure curiosity.

In advertisements and magazines, Mr. Omiyama shows us how interesting photography can be with his fresh ideas and bold, lively images. We hope you will purchase this work, which is filled with his heartfelt thoughts and feelings.

The book is already on sale , and there will be topics such as purchase specials and a private exhibition. For details, please check the information below. Finally, here is Omiyama's comment on the occasion of the release of the book.

Before I knew it, I was constantly avoiding taking wrong turns and detours as if they were a bad thing. Getting lost is one of the metabolic processes that, if not done properly, is more frequent than the number of meals we eat. . then now was the time to get lost as much as I could. I decided to make a foolish use of my time. On an impulse that felt like an idea, I attached a cheap directional magnet to the handlebars of my motorcycle and, relying on it, set off north.
I make a living in photography, dressing this way and that, and making up reasons for taking pictures every day, but at the end of the day, all I really want to say is, "I was here.
If nothing happens, I believe that life will continue for decades to come. I am sure that, from time to time, they will simply and honestly accumulate "I was here". Just like this book.
To someone who can't step out, to the evening when for some reason you don't want to leave, to the morning when the sun is frustrating, to the midnight when you cling to your blankets, to you who are lost.
. and hope that it will reach heaven.
