SAINT LAURENT's wallet is clad in calfskin named Grain de Poudre, which is characterized by its delicate embossing. The delicate embossing finish is a distinguishing feature. Inspired by Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent's iconic smoking jacket, it is one of the Maison's signature leathers. Its lush luster is the result of careful finishing with wax and casein.
Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello dyed it in dark jeune. Jaune (=JAUNE) means yellow in French.
Monsieur was a master colorist, coloring his collections with powerful touches of purple, violet, red, ink blue, and turmeric, as well as with a touch of sheer brightness. Dark Jeanne is another icon of Monsieur's work.
The new lineup includes a fragment card case, a credit card wallet, and an East/West wallet. It is said that yellow wallets bring good luck, and Saint Laurent's wallets are sure to do just that.
