The "Queen of Shaved Ice" is no lie. The name comes from Asako Harada, who eats about 1,800 bowls of shaved ice a year, or more than four bowls of shaved ice a day. Harada has gained attention on TBS TV's "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai" and in magazines, and is the owner of the shaved ice brand "Hyosha mamatoko".

An original shaved ice menu in collaboration with such a queen will be offered at "etc. JOURNAL STANDARD," a concept store for clothing, food and housing in Kichijoji, from July 16 (Sat.) to 17 (Sun.). The menu features three types of shaved ice: "Sake Kasu Cream Lassi with Lightly Marinated Two-color Grapes," "White Peach Hojicha and Brown Sugar Plum," and "Mango & Passion Fruit Sauce with Furu Furu Apricot Tofu" (￥850+TAX each). A limited number of "JOURNAL STANDARD furniture" original tableware "BOISE SOUP BOWL" with shaved ice will be available for purchase as a set (￥2,500+TAX).

Also, FRANZÈ & EVANS LONDON, an artistic delicatessen from London in Omotesando, will be offering British sweets inspired "Citrus and Meringue Tart Style" on July 30 ( Sat ) - 31 ( Sun ) and "Black Spice Chai and Mint Cream" (￥950 + tax each).
The queen of shaved ice has developed more than 100 kinds of syrups, and her sweets are made by mixing handmade syrups with seasonal fruits and other ingredients from around the world. The taste has been attracting shaved ice freaks and other food-sensitive people.
The sweltering heat of summer is finally upon us. This seasonal sweet is not only cool and tasty, but also delicious. Please enjoy the taste created by the queen, who boasts of serving approximately 1,800 cups a year.
