Ellie Omiya is a creator active in a variety of fields, including writer, screenwriter, film director, and commercial director. She is currently holding her first solo exhibition in Hokuriku, "This is forest speaking -Moshi moshi, here is forest," at "Kanaz Forest of Creation" in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, where she has been writing a column in the latest issue of Huinum Unplugged.

She began creating paintings in earnest in 2012. Omiya was asked to do live painting at a party. I told them I couldn't do it because I had never painted before, but it just so happened that I had to do it," he said. The pictures he painted as requested were highly acclaimed by gallerist Tomio Koyama, who had introduced artists such as Yoshitomo Nara and Takashi Murakami to the world, and he found himself moving forward as an artist.

The exhibition will feature a total of 58 works, including large acrylic paintings, drawings, ceramic works on view for the first time, and documentary videos. Of note are three large paintings and other works to be exhibited in the entrance of the Forest of Creation and other outdoor spaces. These paintings were inspired by the forest surrounding the venue.

The exhibition will run until June 11. Please come and see the coexistence of nature and art with your own eyes.
