Introducing the film, "Sacred Breath: A Journey to the Roots of Yoga" is a documentary about the roots of yoga, told through the beautiful landscapes and precious images of South India.

The story goes, "A novice yoga filmmaker embarks on a journey to retrace the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, the source of modern yoga. He visits renowned disciples and children of T. Krishnamacharya and takes lessons directly from them. In this film, German filmmaker Jan Schmidt-Gahle, interested in the origins of yoga, travels to South India and follows the path of Tirumalai Krishnamacharya (1888 - 1989), the "father of modern yoga. During his travels, the director received instruction in sun salutations and asanas (postures). At the end of the journey, Krishnamacharya's third son gives him a "life-saving yoga" treatment.

The history of modern yoga can be learned from the director's point of view, who is almost a yoga novice, so the content is not too spiritual and can be enjoyed even by those who are not familiar with yoga. Above all, the scenery is very beautiful.

A free yoga event that lets you feel the natural summer breeze , and a film that successfully encapsulates the Indian breeze on film. For those with even a passing interest in yoga, this is an accessible event. Please take advantage of this opportunity.
