The brand was launched in 2008 by Hisanori Murakami and Jun Murakami, designers who worked as production staff of an apparel brand and worked in a shoe factory for a while, creating unprecedented shoes by focusing on reliable technology, materials, and manufacturing methods.

The leather is made of Calico suede by Horween. The side gore boots are ankle-length, with a tight fit around the ankle, and are summer-appropriate for shorts.
The toe part, characterized by its unique roundness like a cobbler's bread, is where the characteristics of the original wooden pattern, made from scratch, are most apparent. In addition, the insole bears the "MADE IN GM JAPAN for Ron Herman" logo.
