At the 100th Hakone Ekiden (relay race) held at the beginning of the year, ASICS achieved a major breakthrough in the percentage of athletes wearing its shoes, with 24.81 TP10T (52 athletes) this year, compared to 15.21 TP10T (32 athletes) last year. The METASPEED series focuses on stride and pitch running styles, and is designed to help runners maintain their daily running form while demonstrating their performance. METASPEED SKY PARIS is a stride-type shoe, while METASPEED EDGE PARIS is a pitch-type shoe.
Both of these shoes feature FF TURBO PLUS, a lightweight cushioning foam material that boasts excellent resilience throughout the midsole, and are approximately 8.0% lighter than their predecessors, while improving resilience by approximately 8.2% and cushioning by approximately 6.0%. A lightweight carbon plate inside the midsole is designed to stabilize the foot's movement and allow it to move forward effectively.
The upper using the new "Motion Wrap Upper 2.0" material has increased breathability by approximately 8.01 TP10T. The outsole using ASICSGRIP, which adapts to various surface conditions, is also a key point.
