The advantages of this robot are that it will mechanize the interlocking system (weaving two cords together) of "Unique", which was originally done by hand, thereby reducing the production time of the shoes and allowing for customization of colors and materials. It will also reduce labor costs, making it possible to produce "Unique" shoes in areas with high labor and land costs. It will also reduce the cost and time of transporting goods from China and Vietnam, where factories are currently located, as well as the carbon footprint from the fuel consumption associated with transportation, thereby reducing the environmental impact.
