On April 6 (Sat.) and 7 (Sun.), 2024, the TRAIL OPEN AIR DEMO (TOAD) was held at Nagayama Park in Ome, Tokyo, as a hands-on exhibition event where visitors could actually use and try out the latest trail-running gear.
This was the 10th time this event was held. The event attracted 76 brands, which displayed and sold the latest trail running gear, as well as held mini-events such as relay and shuttle runs.
What are the features of Rig Recovery Footwear?
Japanese recovery footwear brand "rig FOOTWEAR" also exhibited at TOAD. A wide variety of items, including this season's new "bendera" and "kuruka," were on display, providing a rare opportunity to actually try on the brand's shoes.
Recovery Footwear is a staple of before and after footwear for running, trail running, and other activities. Rig Footwear's items, in particular, feature a footbed based on the characteristics of the Japanese foot, making them very comfortable for the foot. The excellent shock-absorbing midsole promotes efficient recovery from fatigue.
The appeal of the rig, told from the runner's point of view.
Our HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡ also participated in this year's "TOAD",group run. with about 20 participants, we ran about 8 km on the trails around the venue.
When you hit the trails , your feet take a fair amount of damage. You want to relax and work them. . This is where recovery footwear comes in.
What kind of feeling and effect can be obtained by wearing recovery footwear after a trail run? And how comfortable are the " Rig Footwear "? We asked the members of HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡ who just finished a group run to try them out and give us their impressions.
A nice pair of sandals and sneakers.
." "I tried out the new "bendera," a slip-on type of shoe. . The special feature of this model is that the upper fits your foot when you turn the dial with a jerky click. They fit like a pair of sneakers without the worry of slipping them on and off. I thought they were a pair of sandals and sneakers with the best of both worlds. The inside of the upper is made of a fabric called AATH, which has a recovery effect, and is comfortable to the touch. Incidentally, all the staff at TOTOKEN, including myself, wear a pair of Rig Footwear's slide-type sandals. They are easy to put on and take off, and they are also popular among the staff because they do not tire easily even after wearing them for a long time.
Not too soft , not too hard. So , easy to walk on.
. I tried on the new "kuruka" today. . It is a sandal type with a strap on the heel. The upper is made of stretchy CLARINO man-made leather , and the fit is good. I felt a gentle comfort as if my feet were wrapped around them. In my opinion, the appeal of Rig Footwear's recovery footwear is that the sole is neither too soft nor too hard. They are easy to walk in because they don't sink in too much when you land. If you are just going to chill out at a campsite, it might be better to have a soft sole, but if you are going to take the train and walk to and from home, it is better to have a moderate amount of firmness. That's why they are perfect as shoes to wear before and after a trail run like the one I did today.
In addition to the new ones they tried on, Rigg Footwear offers a wide variety of recovery footwear, including flip-flops and slides. Find the perfect pair for you according to your taste and purpose.
