A willful figure living in New York City. Hair stylist and photographer NERO's exhibition will be held at UNDER R.

As a prelude to the grand opening of the new Ron Herman concept store "UNDER R" at the end of August, various artists are holding exhibitions, and this time we feature hairstylist and photographer NERO.

He relocated from Japan to New York in 2014, and while working as a hairstylist on advertising and editorial projects, he also documented his friends who came to his studio for haircuts in photographs as a personal work.

Focusing on this series of portraits, this exhibition, "YOUTH," presents portraits of youths on 10.8 x 8.5 cm Polaroid film, regarding them as people who live with a will. The photographs of youths of different ages, occupations, and backgrounds seem to represent the city of New York itself, which tolerates a diversity of individuality.
