Have you ever heard of the "Murph Watch?"
Fans affectionately referred to the wristwatch, which played an important role as a prop in one of master director Christopher Nolan's best-known films, "Interstellar" (released in 2014).
Joseph Cooper, a former Air Force pilot played by Matthew McConaughey, is selected for the Interstellar (manned interplanetary voyage) mission to seek a new home for mankind. On the day of his departure, he tells his beloved daughter, Murph, played by Jessica Chastain, that he will be back, and hands her a wristwatch that will become a tool for paving the way to the future - that's the rough plot of the film.
Kip Thorne, who later won the Nobel Prize in Physics, served as scientific consultant for the highly acclaimed "Interstellar," which was thoroughly realistic in its pursuit of reality.
The watch was a prop piece made by Hamilton.

Two new models in the popular 38mm diameter lineup.
Coupled with the success of the film, there was no shortage of requests for the commercialization of the prop piece. The Khaki Field Murph 42mm was launched in 2019 to answer those calls. With Arabic indexes, cobra hands, and vintage-like Super-LumiNova ®︎ applied to them, the Khaki Field Murph 42mm faithfully reproduces the prop piece and has been very well received.
Introduced here are two new additions to the Khaki Field Murph 38mm lineup.
One model retains the original black dial but updates it with a stainless steel bracelet. The other is the first white dial. The white dial with a black leather strap evokes the light and darkness of the universe.

In a playful touch found only on the first model, the second hand, which holds the key to the story, was printed with a Morse code that translates to "Eureka. "Eureka" is Greek for "I get it!" which is the line that Murph shouts at the climax of the film. The print is so small that you have to strain your eyes to make out the words, as if it were a cipher that Murph had solved. It's a treat for fans.
What truth did Murph arrive at and what Greek word "Eureka" came out of his mouth - you will have to wait for the full story to find out.
