I like classic items that have been around for a long time. I like their beliefs and designs that do not fade away over time.

But that doesn't mean I want to wear them as they were in the past. I don't want to be out of the context of today's fashion, and some of the clothes I own are old and some are new.

Aquascutum was founded in London in 1851, and through the development of trench coats and waterproof cotton and wool materials, the name became popular as a brand for the Royal Navy, Air Force, and Royal Family. Coats are a representative item among them.

Journal Standard requested a special order from such a brand. Although it is a special order, it is surprising that it was produced from scratch, not by a slight rearrangement.

Inspired by the brand's big-size waterproof wool coats from the 1960s, we have updated them to be more in tune with the modern age.

Aquascutum's Aqua5, a 100% cotton water-repellent material, was used, and an original wool fabric made in Japan was added to create a wardrobe that is easily adaptable to daily life.

Thanks to its slightly loose sizing, it can be worn without stress and does not snag on any innerwear. Hand-stitching takes comfort to the extreme.

The collection will go on sale at Journal Standard stores from November 8 (Fri.). Try the Aquascutum coat we all know and love, but with slightly different specifications.
