If only I had a sauna at home.... WATCHTOWER SAUNA, a project to make such a dreamy lifestyle come true, has been launched.
The project was initiated by Dolive, a brand that proposes and disseminates new ideas for home design based on the concept of "Have a good life? FreshService, led by creative director Takayuki Minami. The tent sauna supervised by Mr. Minami, who also has a sauna side, is called "FreshService.WATCHTOWER SAUNA "Dolive" x "FreshServiceWe will propose new references for home building through the "Home Building.
Luxurious sauna experience made possible by free house construction.
The first actual building was installed in a model house in Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture.SEAWARD HOUSE". The Sea of Japan spreads out in front of you as a substitute for a water bath, and the veranda has a wooden deck that can be used for outdoor bathing. It is a space with the perfect conditions for totoonto.
WATCHTOWER SAUNA "Dolive" x FreshService," with its distinctive hexagonal column shape, was inspired by the essence of "military," which is the core of FreshService. Using a watchtower as the source of inspiration, the brand name and familiar attentions are silk-screen printed on olive-colored tent fabric. The iron chimney adds to the military mood, creating a completely new and unprecedented tent sauna.
There is more to this sauna than that. The stove, the heart of the sauna, was specially designed by DAICHI, a creative company, in collaboration with Firegraphix, a stove manufacturer. The flickering flames, the soft heat that is transmitted to the body, and the ocean view from the window. It is a luxurious experience that is different from the usual public bathhouse.
Someday, "home saunas" will be the norm.

Both Mr. Minami, the architect of the project, and Teppei Hayashi, the brand director of DRIVE, are big sauna lovers. After successfully completing the installation and actually experiencing the sauna, the two men describe the appeal of the "WATCHTOWER SAUNA 'Dolive' x 'FreshService'" as follows.
Several years ago, we tried to create a sauna at Fresh Service Head Quarters in Gaienmae, but the building we were moving into rejected the plan (laughs). (Laughs) It was a great experience for me to be able to realize it in this way. When I actually entered the building, I was impressed by the hexagonal pillar shape, which not only served a design purpose but also encouraged communication. The faces of the people you enter with come into view, so conversations naturally start to take place. I wanted the sauna to be used as a place for social interaction, like the public bathhouses of the past. For me, a sauna is a place where I can be at peace. At "WATCHTOWER SAUNA," you can become "nothing" at any time and enjoy conversation with your friends who have gone with you. In the future, I would like to bring my sauna-loving staff to WATCHTOWER SAUNA.
It's great, WATCHTOWER SAUNA. I hope that through this project, I can show people that they can make such an extraordinary experience a part of their daily life. What I want to do through Drive is to create a reference for home building. If the time comes when "houses with saunas are the norm," more people will be able to live happily. People go to public baths and sauna facilities to relax. This is fun, but if you have a sauna in your home, you don't have to go to the trouble and stress of traveling to the sauna. Whenever I have time, I can take a sauna at home. I would be happy if such a lifestyle spreads," says Teppei Hayashi.
To celebrate the launch of "WATCHTOWER SAUNA 'Dolive' x 'FreshService'," a limited-time campaign is underway until February 13 (Thu.) to enter a drawing to win items originally created by FreshService's sauna line "Refresh Service" and "Drive".
