Goldwin is the main sponsor of the event.Setoda Lemon MarathonThe "Race" is set on the seaside of the Seto Inland Sea. The race is set on the seaside of the Seto Inland Sea and features sports tourism that combines food, scenery, and accommodation, as well as initiatives to reduce environmental impact, such as carrying your own bottle and carbon offsets. This marathon embodies a "new vision of marathon running" in which runners can unconsciously commit themselves to sustainability while experiencing the rich nature and culture of Setoda.
The third event will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025. In preparation for the event, a group running event was held with the cooperation of Goldwind, a partner with whom we have been working together to find ways to operate the event with a low environmental impact, as well as a rally for runners planning to participate in the event.
The meeting place is Meiji Park. Surrounded by sports facilities such as the National Stadium and Jingu Stadium, this park has just reopened in January 2024 after a major redevelopment.
First, Tomoya Yazaki, a member of the executive committee of the "Setoda Lemon Marathon," will talk about the My Bottle Run and other environmental initiatives, as well as the nature of Setoda. After that, everyone forms a circle and introduces themselves. The commonality of "running" makes it easy to get to know each other even if you are just meeting for the first time. This is even more so since we all have the same goal of running the Setoda Lemon Marathon.
It is an exhilarating ride through the heart of Tokyo!
Now, let's get started with the group run!
The course for this year's event was a 6-kilometer round course starting from Meiji Park, passing through the National Stadium and Jingu Gaien, and then around the outer perimeter of the Akasaka Imperial Palace.
With the gingko trees of Jingu Gaien on the side, go toward Yotsuya from the intersection of Gondahara.
From in front of the main gate of the State Guest House to the Akasaka area. You will enjoy the view of central Tokyo as you run through the city in an exhilarating way.
After 40 minutes of running and when our bodies had warmed up moderately, we returned to Meiji Park.
And the finish! We finished running about 6 kilometers. Although the buildings are densely packed in central Tokyo, if you choose the right course, you can enjoy the spacious roads and beautiful nature, making it a pleasant run.
The weather was clear and sunny. The sky over central Tokyo was a clear blue. We only hope that the day of the Setoda Lemon Marathon will also be blessed with fine weather like this day.
In addition to Tokyo, the group run was also held at "The North Face Okayama" and "The North Face Fukuyama" as a new initiative.

In the Kansai region, the "Setoda Lemon Marathon" presentation was given in the form of a seminar, and the participants were able to exchange meaningful opinions in the same at-home atmosphere as the convention. The circle of communication widens when people have the same goal in mind. This is one of the most exciting aspects of the race.
The three parties are three different things. My thoughts on the Setoda Lemon Marathon.
What is the stance of the runners scheduled to participate in the Setoda Lemon Marathon toward running? And what are their thoughts on this event? We asked Sakurako Fukuchi, Dean Aizawa, and Akemi Rodley, who are entered in the half marathon division.

I participated in the "Setoda Lemon Marathon" the year before last and last year as well, and was impressed by the warmth of the people and the beauty of nature. I am happy to be able to visit the area again. This year, I heard that the CO2 emissions associated with the event will be offset, and I thought it was wonderful that the environmental efforts are evolving year by year. Incidentally, I have a full marathon coming up a week after this event. On the day of the race, I would like to run at a pace that does not put a burden on my body, while enjoying the scenery and cheering for the runners.
I love to be physically active and enjoy various sports and outdoor activities on a regular basis. I have never run a marathon before, and the Setoda Lemon Marathon will be my first attempt. 21.0975 km... I am nervous, but I have never been to the Setouchi area, so I am looking forward to the race more! I'm looking forward to enjoying not only the race, but also the food, scenery, and stay before and after the race.
I like nature. I like outdoor activities. I hear that the Setouchi area, where the "Setoda Lemon Marathon" will be held, is also rich in nature, so I am very much looking forward to it. Also, this marathon is run in an environmentally friendly manner, with runners running with their own bottles instead of using disposable cups at the water stations. I sympathize with their attitude and efforts. On the day of the race, I want to enjoy the race at my own pace without worrying about time or pace," said Akemi Rodry.
The Setoda Lemon Marathon is coming up in a month. Huinamu will be on site to closely follow the three runners on the day of the marathon and before and after the marathon. We will report on the event in Huinamu's FEATURE at a later date. Please stay tuned!
