Ian Schoen, an engineer and product designer, has worked on frames for an American bicycle brand and managed a parts brand. His focus was on writing implements. He wanted to create a "daily use item" that would be "long-lasting and unbreakable," so he machined a simple pen out of solid metal and completed it with only four parts.

The 100% pen from Sean Design is made in the USA. The pen itself is made in a workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, and the brass screws for refill replacement are made in one of the oldest screw factories in Boston.
The card board tube is packaged with refills from "Fisher" made in Nevada, and the card board tube packaging is made in a factory in Michigan that handles paper tubes for shell casings and other products. Quality inspection and packaging are done at a workshop in Massachusetts. The thoroughness of the American-made products shows the commitment to craftsmanship and consistent ideology.
Minimalist design made so that it does not snag when placed in jeans or bag pockets. The simple construction without any rubber or plastic allows for long-lasting use without mechanical breakdown.
Five materials are available: aluminum, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and titanium. While the product has made a full-fledged landing in Japan, it will be available in limited quantities at a very limited number of stores due to the inability to mass-produce. The product will go on sale in September, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
