The Marlo Tote was born, following in the footsteps of THE ROW's Margaux bag, which has already secured its place as a masterpiece of the 21st century.
The organic silhouette of the "Margaux" is reminiscent of the supple leather's potential, but upon closer inspection, the two are quite dissimilar.
First of all, the iconic Margaux frontal stitching and trench coat-inspired gusset belt have been removed. Minimalism at its finest.
Careful tailoring is evident in the lining.
The handle is long enough to carry over the shoulder without difficulty, even when wearing a coat or jacket. The narrower bottom panel allows it to fit under your arm. Although the bottom studs have been eliminated, the bag stands firmly on its own when placed on the floor. The good quality leather and beautiful form probably play the role of a balancer.
The leather used is Italian-made saddle leather. As the name suggests, it is a vegetable tannin leather used for saddles. We were also surprised at the lightness of the leather, which belies its primitive texture. This can be said to be the result of straining the leather to the point where its strength is not compromised.
The front and back of the body are constructed of a single piece of leather, as in "Margaux". The koba has been carefully polished and has a glossy luster.
The new masterpiece of The Row is the Marlo Tote.
