CASE Publishing, the publishing arm of CASE, will hold exhibitions, symposiums, lectures, workshops, and other events to coincide with the publication of its books, aiming to provide a venue for cultural exchange rooted in the local community. The goal is to create a place for cultural exchange rooted in each community.
The space and fixtures of the "CASE" areDAIKEI MILLSDesign by. With "printed matter" and "platform" as keywords, the fixtures, developed from shipping pallets, will be variable according to the size of each space and the concept of the exhibition. (*Photographs show prototype fixtures.)
CASE TOKYO" and "CASE ROTTERDAM" will be held at the following locations.
First, in Tokyo, Nobuyoshi Araki's "Theater of Love" will be held in cooperation with Taka Ishii Gallery and Zen Foto Gallery.

This exhibition consists of over 100 cabinet size prints taken by Araki around 1965, when he was working for Dentsu, and was originally shown at Taka Ishii Gallery in February 2011. This exhibition commemorates the opening of "CASE TOKYO" and will be accompanied by the publication of a book containing all of Araki's "Theater of Love" works, as well as all of the original prints.

A cabinet-size box labeled "Theater of Love" appeared. When I opened it, I found about 150 prints, dating back to around 1965. I took a lot of pictures with my Olympus Pen F at that time, and intentionally developed the film in a thermal process and made prints in an easy-going way. I guess they were calling it "theater of love" even back then. But still, it's a good, good photo. Digital cameras can't do this.

Meanwhile, CASE ROTTERDAM will host an exhibition to coincide with the publication of "Chai Wan Fire Station," a major work by Hong Kong-based photographer Chan Dick ( Chan Dick ).

It was the Chai Wan Fire Station that brought him international recognition. In the small world that Chan peeked into from his window in the distance below, firefighters go about their daily lives. Chan's minimalistic and beautiful bird's-eye view of this pattern was highly acclaimed.

This exhibition will be the first time that the series is presented in Europe, in conjunction with the publication of "Chai Wang Fire Station" by CASE Publishing.
Both Japan and the Netherlands have been valuable exhibits. Please do not miss it.
