Paul Smith is a brand that freely transcends the boundaries of genres through the magic of collaboration with fashion at its core.
To name just a few of the things that have fallen under its spell, there is a wide variety, including cars, cameras, stationery, and furnishings. From global companies to maniacal brands, the breadth of the tag-team partners is astonishing.
And this time, our partner may be more on the geek side. Niwaki is a brand that specializes in gardening tools.
Its name might make you think it is a Japanese brand, but it is actually a British brand. It was founded by Jake Hobson and his wife Keiko, who were fascinated by Japanese gardens and had worked for a gardener in Osaka. The duo plays a central role in providing gardeners with products that focus on functional beauty.
Last month, an unveiling of exclusive items created with "Niwaki" was held at the Paul Smith Sanjo store in Kyoto.
Here are Paul and Jake, who flew in from England!
The curtain at the entrance of the store is decorated with the names of both brands.

According to some sources, Paul Smith's London store originally carried Niwaki's tools, which led to the creation of these exclusive items.
All of them are authentic, with Paul Smith's color arrangements, but also have a depth of feeling that even those who are just starting out in gardening can handle them.
Exclusive items lined up in the showcase.
Jake recommends the Hori Hori Pro + Canvas Sheath, an all-purpose shovel. The Hori Hori is a very popular tool at Niwaki. It's simple in construction, but it can be used for planting, mowing, and many other purposes.

Paul, on the other hand, cited the "Higurashi Secateurs + Leather Holste" pruning shears as one of his favorites. I love the classic, beautiful shape," he said. I love the classic, beautiful shape, and the leather cords on the handles add a splash of color.

To begin with, Paul is known for his photography, bike riding, art collecting, and many other interests, but what about gardening?
I hired garden designer Dan Pearson to do my garden. In addition to his team, my wife takes care of it, so there is no room for me.
So, it is quite valuable to see Paul holding pruning shears at a demonstration of "Niwaki" products.

The warm colors of these exclusive items are eye-catching.
Jake explains, "It blends well with the landscape with plants, and the appeal is that as you use it, the color fades and the look changes little by little. The same is true of the leather cases and tool bags that come with the scissors. I am sure that the aging process of these products will be a pleasure only for the owner of the scissors.
The leather case of the pruning shears has a hook to hang them on a belt.
The items introduced in this article are now on sale at the Paul Smith and Niwaki online stores. The Sanjo store has already closed, but if you would like to check them out in person, please visit Paul Smith's stores in Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya.
