Lee's pop-up store opened at the end of March at the entrance to Cat Street on the Shibuya side of the street. The pop-up shop features limited-edition items, the 100th anniversary model of the "101," and many of the brand's iconic masterpieces. This is an event where you can experience the history and worldview of "Lee" firsthand. Here are some of the items we picked up from the event from a "hui-nam" point of view.

TOPIC 01_Lee Craftworks by HOWA
One-of-a-kind items that can only be found here.
Shibuya Store Limited Remake 101 ¥49,500 each
Shibuya Store Limited Remake 101 ¥49,500
The Howa Plant in Okayama Prefecture is world-renowned as a specialist in washing jeans. Jeans sold in the Lee brand's in-line lineup are also processed here, and the two companies have built a close relationship.
Seven craftsmen from the HOWA factory created these remake jeans, which are being sold exclusively at the pop-up, based on the "RIDERS 101-Z," a reissued model from 1948, but arranged in a way that reflects the individuality of each craftsman. The word "remake" can be used to describe a variety of looks, such as stitching, wrapping a bandana around the belt loop, or applying a patch of fabric. These one-of-a-kind pieces are made to enjoy chance encounters, just like vintage clothing.
What was the concept behind the remake? Don't miss the comment tags attached to each pair of jeans by the craftsmen themselves.
TOPIC 02_AMERICAN RIDERS
Six silhouettes of Lee's pride and joy are gathered.
AMERICAN RIDERS" is positioned as a standard men's series. In this pop-up, six silhouettes will be presented, including the 101, a typical regular straight, the 102, a boot cut, the 200, a full cut, the 202, a bell bottom, the 203, a tapered, and the 205, a tight silhouette.
AMERICAN RIDERS 102 ¥16,500
Hui-Nam picked up the boot cut "102" from among them. The flared line that extends from the knee to the hem is different from straight and tapered styles, and is a perfect accent to bring a fresh look to your usual outfits.
Kendrick Lamar wore boot-cut jeans during the halftime show at the NFL Super Bowl this past February, and there is no doubt that this is the silhouette you want to get now.
TOPIC 03_101 100th Anniversary
Anniversary piece celebrating 100 years of history.
This year, "101" celebrates its 100th anniversary. The "101-J" and "101-Z," which follow the details of the 40's and use rare right-hand twill denim, are memorial pieces that could become vintage in the future, with designs unique to the 100th anniversary model. A memorable item that could become a vintage of the future. For more information, please contact us,Feature article published recentlyfor more information.
TOPIC 04_THE ARCHIVES
Bringing the heritage we have built up to the present day.
Left: Denim jacket "101-J 1948" ¥49,500,
Right: "101-J" and "101-Z" in 1948
In the long history of "Lee," the fabrics and details used have changed with the times. THE ARCHIVES" series researches these changes and reprints them in the current era.
In one corner of the pop-up venue, "101-J" and "101-Z" as they were in 1948 are on display, and right next to them, "THE ARCHIVES" items are displayed as if in contrast. The vintage items are fascinating, of course, but more than that, you will be amazed at the faithful reproduction of "THE ARCHIVES" when you compare them in person.
The "101-J 1948," a reissue model from 1948, uses 13.3/4 oz. left twill denim that reproduces vintage yarns. By weaving it densely, the fabric is both supple and robust. Moreover, as you wear it, you can enjoy the powerful fading characteristic of "101", and the finish is as good as the vintage one.
TOPIC 05_DUNGAREES
Workwear is the starting point of the brand.
Lee began manufacturing workwear in 1911. The name "Lee" became famous with the release of "Union Olds" in 1913. The "DUNGAREES" series is a lineup of workwear that should be called the starting point of such a brand.
Rococo Jacket ¥18,700
The coveralls in the lineup were created in 1928 and became known as "Loco Jacket" after locomotive (= railroad), as they were favored by the railroad workers in the United States at that time.
This striped one in particular is made of light dungaree fabric, making it perfect as a light outerwear for this season. It is best to wear it loosely like a shirt jacket, without closing the buttons all the way to the top.
Printed T ¥5,940
And the tag of the "DUNGAREES" series features a bulldog as a symbol of workwear. The DUNGAREES series also includes souvenir-like T-shirts with such a lovable bulldog printed all over them. I can assure you that people will ask, "Where did you get that? This is a piece that is guaranteed to make you ask, "Where is it from?
This event is a place where visitors can experience the appeal of "Lee" once again, with items such as the "101," which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, as well as other items that demand quality and solidity. The event will last until August 31 (Mon.), but some items are limited, so if you are interested, please visit the event as soon as possible.
