The "FACETASM" project by photographer/video director Yoshiyuki Okuyama and "FACETASM" started in 2020.TOKYO SEQUENCE".
Over the years, Huinum has supported the visual presentation of a total of 200 people who have been photographing the ever-changing city of Tokyo and the diverse people who inhabit it.
Shot with an 8mm film camera, three frames of less than 0.0 seconds of time were selected from each solid film frame to create a continuous visual representation of the changing Tokyo, its unique personalities, and "FACETASM" fashion in a fraction of a second. The three frames are selected to show the changing Tokyo, the unique personalities, and the fashion of "FACETASM.
TOKYO SEQUENCE", which has been produced slowly over a long period of time, is finally complete. It is now a collection of photographs.
In addition to a total of 200 newly shot photographs, the book also includes landscape photographs taken by Yoshiyuki Okuyama of the unique city of Tokyo, a city that is always in a state of flux and change.
Subjects include Rina Ota, Yui Sakuma, Takashi Suzuka, Keiichi Sogabe, Yuki Chiba, Kunichi Nomura, and Mayu Yokota.
The production of "TOKYO SEQUENCE" began around 2018, when Tokyo was undergoing large-scale development everywhere in preparation for the Olympics. The cityscape was in a state of continuous and powerful change as layers of various cultures and eras overlapped, coexisted, and undulated. FACETASM's clothes and 200 subjects embody the city of "Tokyo," a "city of margins and chaos" and "the perfection of continuous change. As a result, this was a long-term project that lasted for six years, including the Corona disaster, but we believe that you can sense the "continuity" of "Tokyo", where people, fashion, and the city have changed dramatically over a long period of time. We hope you can feel the continuity of "Tokyo", where people, fashion, and the city have changed dramatically over a long time. We hope you will enjoy the film. Yoshiyuki Okuyama
We have been looking at the city of Tokyo from the perspective of Okuyama-kun and ourselves for the past six years. TOKYO SEQUENCE" will be published, which overlaps the daily life of each of us with the ever-changing scenery. We were there at the moment when values were changing due to the pandemic, and at the time when we felt the sadness and the upturned feelings of the scrap-and-build that kept happening. The photo shoot with as many as 200 FACETASM-clad subjects will surely be a precious event to look back on in the future, so that yesterday, today, and those days cannot be repeated. The time spent traveling to the location of the shoot while engaging in casual conversation with the subjects was also pleasant, and now I remember the tender feelings that I have fond memories of. Please come and feel the time that we felt flowing through Tokyo.
To celebrate the publication of the book, a book signing by Yoshiyuki Okuyama and "FACETASM" designer Hiromichi Ochiai will be held at "Daikanyama Tsutaya" on May 11 (Sun). A limited edition poster produced to commemorate the release of the photo book will also be on sale. This is a special edition of 9 types in limited quantities, personally signed by Yoshiyuki Okuyama and FACETASM.
The photo book can also be purchased at "SUPER LABO STORE" and "FACETASM AOYAMA".
The project "TOKYO SEQUENCE" is a project that richly captures the Sugatakas of a certain period of time in Tokyo, a city that is still changing and transforming.
It is a special and particular work that, if seen 10 years from now, must evoke a different emotion than it does now.
