From his unique perspective as a "window to everywhere," Watanabe has been pursuing the ambiguity between reality and imagination, inside and outside, and self and others through his paintings. In this exhibition, Watanabe further advances this exploration by presenting the painting space as a "special field.

Commenting on the special area, Watanabe said

As a teenager, there was a space that I would call a special domain. It was a soccer field. It was a very special thing to step onto a space of about 100 meters by 70 meters surrounded by white lines. It is said that there is a god there, and many stories have been told about it, some entertaining, some sad, etc.
The white lines drawn on the field were like a border between the real world and the field, creating a special area for me.
For me now, that special area is the space in which the painting is located. Like the presence of the white lines in the field that are more than just a purpose, I feel that the way the painting is with the possibility of creating Space( (the world of the painting) is similar.
Entering this gallery is entering the field I have created, and I hope you will experience more than just viewing the paintings displayed in the gallery.　Taichi Watanabe

The works are deliberately placed on the ground and continue uninterrupted from the entrance to the back of the gallery. The quiet tension created by this composition is said to incorporate the viewer's body itself as part of the work.
