The requirements for submissions are simple. Anything else is acceptable as long as the sales price is less than ¥3,000, produced within the past year, and fits on a letterpack.
By daring not to select or screen the zines, we are able to experience a truly independent art book scene that projects the purity of the zine itself, i.e., the creator's personal side.
Creators who are close friends of "Flotsam Books" such as Osamu Kanemura, Hiroko Komatsu, Kyohei Hattori, Motohiko Hasui, Kohei Kanno, Mika Kitamura, Daisuke Yokota, and Yukito Kono will also participate in this event. Kyohei Suzuki of "Mēdeia2.0" was invited as a special selection committee member, and the book selected from his unique perspective will be published and sold as a new zine.
The tour will begin on Friday, June 13 at Flotsam Books and run through October. Please come and meet independent and free talents at venues in your city.
