Protective clothing that is never going to protect your life.
Israel Army Nylon Vest
Military and military clothes are made with an emphasis on functionality and with design as a secondary consideration, and this is what stimulates men's hearts and vintners' minds, isn't it? Sometimes, the emphasis on functionality leads to the creation of extremely odd-looking clothes, but that is only because I am happy to know the reasons for the design and the specifications. . Sometimes we encounter items with a design that at first glance we do not understand what the purpose of the design, adoption, or use was, but that we find fascinating in any case.

Nylon vest for the Israeli army. . Unique details such as the thick-width front flap and side laces shine through.
The Israeli military nylon vest I am introducing here is one such piece of clothing for me. I found it at "Militaria," a vintage clothing store in Koenji that specializes in military goods, and bought it on impulse without giving it much thought because of its reasonable price. It is lightweight and comfortable. It is probably the most useful item for this summer, which has been extremely hot and humid.

. Figure worn over a T-shirt. The thin nylon fabric is light and lightweight, and can be easily worn even in the hot summer months.
When I wore it, many people would ask me, "What's that?" I was not able to give a clear answer because I did not know what it was, and I always skirted around the question. The other day, while I was DJing at a party, designer Takeo Kikuchi happened to be in the audience, and upon seeing my vest, he said, "I have this vest, too, but I don't know what it is used for. Let me know if you know! I have this vest too, but I don't know what it is used for. I decided that I had to look into it.
It's too flimsy to be a garment for protection against the cold, and it doesn't have as many pockets or storage spaces as a typical military tactical vest. . At a quick glance, it looks very similar to the M69 body armor that the U.S. military employed during the Vietnam War.

M69 Body Armor" is known as the equipment of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. . It is voluminous with a built-in armor pad.
. especially the part on the side where it is a knitted part. However, this one uses a huge Velcro tape to open and close the front, which makes a loud noise that makes people look back when putting it on and taking it off.

Both sides are laced as in the "M69 Body Armor" , and the width of the body can be adjusted.

The front is not buttoned, but has Velcro for easy opening and closing. To prevent it from opening easily, a thicker width is used.
Body armor is a vest-like body armor used to protect oneself from bullets and debris from explosions, and is called a flak jacket(Flak Jacket) , or bulletproof vest in Japan. However, this Israeli military vest is made of thin nylon that makes a shuffling sound anyway, and does not contain any armor padding (like anko) to protect the body, which is provided in the "M69 Body Armor," nor is there any space to put it in.

. It is made of thin fabric and can be folded compactly as you can see.
The design around the neck of "M69" is also designed to protect the neck with an erect collar like a stand collar because of the angularity of the collar, but this one hangs down like a soft shawl collar jacket with a V-zone created. This collar has a mysterious and stylish nuance.

. view from the back with the collar up. It can be used as a locker loop arrived at the neck.
The back of the neck has a string for a hook, and elastic is threaded through to create gathers. . This is another detail that is not often seen on military items.

Mil Specs pasted on the inside. . unfamiliar language because of Israel. Only the numbers can be read , and they are unreadable.
Since it belongs to the Israeli military, it seems to have some specifications and information on it in a font that I assume is Hebrew, but other than the fact that it was made in 1984, it is completely illegible (laugh). However, technology is amazing these days, and I was able to scan the image of the label and use "Google Translate" to instantly translate it from Hebrew to English (since I was a little worried about the direct Japanese).
Protective Anti-Grit Vest
Wearing it properly will protect your main body from shrapnel damage and grenades.
I see, the name of the item means "sand avoidance vest". But then it says something quite exaggerated. It says, "This vest may save your life! When properly worn, it will protect you from shotgun pellet damage and grenades". No, no, no, this is not going to protect you from shrapnel from an explosion, is it?

Two shots with Dr. Takeo Kikuchi, a great designer who has been leading the Japanese fusion scene from the 70's to the present.
Well, in the end, I guess it is a vest that can at least be used as sand protection made of lightweight material for hot war zones, while the design and concept of the vest is adapted from the "M69 body armor" of the U.S. Army. Sorry, Mr. Take, but I didn't understand it very well after all.
