How to see - the way of seeing things

Text: Takahiro Goko

How do you usually shop? Do you usually buy things by gathering information on the Internet, comparing and examining them? For example, lights and objects you find at flea markets that are one-of-a-kind and add a touch of color to your life. I am not saying that impulse buying is a good idea, but it might be a good idea to buy things that are more true to your own sensibilities and feelings. Here, Goko-san, who collects interior goods, vintage items, crafts, and local toys from all over the world, without limiting the genre, age, or region, and with her own unique sensibility, tells us how she sees and enjoys things.

Vol. 16 JBL Blue.

. I consider the speakers to be part of the interior design. . Therefore, while emphasizing sound quality, we also pay close attention to the design of the faces.

And the speakers I have been using for many years are JBL speakers . They are called "JBL Blue," and they are a series of speakers with an exquisite blue color on the front. Not only do they have a soft sound, but the white speaker cones placed in the blue color are a beautiful contrast.

. and, best of all, it goes well with my favorite vintage furniture. . with American furniture such as Herman Miller, of course, but also with Danish teak and Finnish birch. . Also, I always remove the mesh from the front to show the beautiful face.

As an added bonus, I'll also include a JBL catalog from the 60s, which features designs by Eames, George Nelson, and others. Their furniture is also used in the styling, making the catalog look like that of a furniture manufacturer such as Herman Miller. I am sure that JBL was particular about sophisticated designs that would not be outdone as interior decorations even back then.

It may be fun to review your home speakers once .
