Change must always be made.
I heard that you recently had a baby. Have there been any immediate changes?
TENDRE: There is really nothing but change (laughs). What I am living now is also my life, but I want to do it for someone else. I feel that we have more team members who help each other. I feel that it is really precious that there are more moments when we can rejoice together as a family.
Have there been any changes in your musical activities?
TENDRE: The interpretation of words changes a lot. For example, even if I include the lyrics "I love you," there are changes in the nuance of the lyrics. I want the songs I write to be someone else's songs, not just my own. I want the songs I write to be someone else's songs, not just my own. I have a sense of "I'm thinking this way, but what do you think about it?
It's not just about conveying feelings, it's like communicating with others while throwing them at them....
TENDRE: Yes, it does. When I write songs like that, the presence of a child changes the way they appeal to me. The moment a child is born is really energetic, and I myself was very moved and a lot of emotions were generated. I really enjoy the process of converting that energy into something artistic and sound. Since it happened right in the middle of the production period, I was more motivated to create in an honest way.
Do you feel that the nuance of the language changes, that it becomes softer?
TENDRE: It is difficult to put into words because it is so abstract, but being a musician is a job that is seen, and I have the feeling that I am playing music under the impression of many people. I feel as if a mask has been lifted from my mind, and I now feel that it is okay to create music in my own way.
Do you feel like you have a fixed way of life or something?
TENDRE: It would be cool if I could say that (laughs). But I am sure that 10 years from now I will have a different feeling. For now, I just want to cherish the happiness in front of me, and I will sincerely deal with what is happening.
You mentioned earlier that it happened during the production of the work, and that we might be able to sense some changes in the resulting work.
TENDRE: After all, change is always necessary. I have the toughness to keep making the same thing, but I also want to do more of what I can do, don't you? I am sure that this will increase as I get older, and I believe that there are definitely things that can only be gained through experience, not things that can be bought with money. If I can honestly face up to that, I believe I will become a cool grandpa, and I am doing my best (laughs).
Finally, what are your goals for the future?
TENDRE: I would like to make a bigger stage for all of us and create many good memories. I also think that we should continue to create new works. Music nowadays is in a very fast cycle, and if we are swept along by the current, we may lose our sense of what is important before we even realize it. There are many artists who are fighting against this. I think the most straightforward activity for me is to continue to create music that I would like to be able to stand still in 20 or 30 years.
