Naoki Ikeda Stylist

Mr. Ikeda has an all-round playing style, from visuals for magazines and advertisements to styling artists and celebrities. He is known for his ability to balance both casual and dress styles, so we asked him how he sees "Levi's®".

Ikeda:Levi's® is a long-established company, but I get the impression that they are always taking on new challenges. They are always willing to take on new product numbers while inheriting their masterpieces. I think that's why new classics like the 511™ are born.

I think they probably have a lot of excellent designers. Authenticity and fashionable novelty are intermingled at just the right time. What's more, most of them can be bought at an affordable price range.

From parkas to jackets, it covers a wide range of outfits.

Mr. Ikeda chose a pair made of flannel, which is a new attempt in the 511™ line. He showed us how he styled it with a larger hoodie and a slightly larger size than usual, creating a gentle and beautiful A-line shape.

Ikeda:I like the not-too-overdone look of 511™. The crotch is a little shallow and the fit is exquisitely slim. They can also be worn with a jacket, so I think they have a wide range of dressing options. I also like the way the silhouette expresses the feel of work fabric.

Personally, I am interested in the "black and brown" color scheme, which has a retro 70's feel and a heavy 90's feel. I tried styling with these colors in mind. Even casual outfits can have a chic atmosphere depending on the use of color.

Kumiko Sannomaru Stylist

Mr. Sannomaru's wide-ranging activities are centered on such media as "VOGUE GIRL," "PERK," and "ELLE girl. She has an outstanding sense for styling with a subtle blend of street sensibility and is highly regarded for her men's styling proposals. Born and raised in the Kansai region and having experienced the unique vintage clothing culture, what does "Levi's®" mean to her?

Sannomaru:Levi's® jeans have a sense of security, don't they? I feel that Levi's® has an unwavering sense in choosing traditional items. I think that everyone must have one pair of jeans.

I myself became interested in the world of "Levi's®" through vintage clothing and became attached to the brand. I think the reason why I choose "Levi's®" out of all the brands is because of its history. I can choose items with a sense of inevitability.

Because of the modern silhouette, play with tops.

We asked Sannomaru to propose coordinating styles using 511™. We asked her to create two styles incorporating shirts and knits in lovely shades. Sannomaru's philosophy is to play with tops because of their simple silhouettes.

The first body is coordinated from the perspective of "a boy wearing a dusky pink shirt would be charming," balancing the '50s-era delinquent look with a pair of intelligent glasses, while the loafers on the feet express an autumnal atmosphere.

The second body is layered with a richly textured knit in a purple hue, based on the theme of feeling "fluffy and inviting to the touch. The jeans are from the 511™ skateboarding line, and the selection of "workout" jeans from Reebok, which also has skateboarding in its backbone, is also a point that cannot be overlooked.

Sannomaru:The appeal of 511™ is that its silhouette is sophisticated without being overly Americanized as 501®. It's a classic slim silhouette that is favored by denim lovers and clean-cut lovers alike.

It is interesting to note that the same model can be completely different depending on the wearer: the skateboard line has reinforcements in areas where it is easy to fall and tear, while the commuter line for bicycle riders has reflectors, and so on.

Simple but modern. I think this exquisite degree of moderation is the reason for its popularity. I recommend a style that can be varied in terms of color and material.

Yusuke Yamaguchi Stylist

Active in a wide range of fields, including magazines, advertisements, and commercials, Yamaguchi is known for his natural, relaxed styling. She has a history with Levi's®, having fallen in love with vintage when she was in junior high school. When she was an assistant, she spent most of her salary repairing her favorite 501® early '66 model.

Yamaguchi:As a soccer kid, Levi's® was the first foreign brand I learned about outside of soccer. My father was a carpenter, and he wore Levi's® jeans as work clothes. So I have been very familiar with the brand since I was a child.

At my height at the time, I could just look at the pockets of the adults' pants. When I went to Disneyland, all the cool adults were wearing jeans with the same pocket stitching. After that, I took my precious allowance and went to a local thrift store to buy jeans. In a way, you could say that Levi's® was the first place I woke up to fashion, and it was a very big part of my life.

How to maximize the appeal of the damage process.

Mr. Yamaguchi coordinates his damaged 511™ with a white jungle jacket and a simple T-shirt in a fresh style. He says, "I'm just dragging out the summer (laugh)," but by keeping the assertiveness of the other items in check, the fraying and fading of the jeans are brought out to their fullest appeal.

Yamaguchi:The 511™ is one of my favorite Levi's® models, and I probably have six or seven pairs in my personal collection. I have five pairs in black alone that I wear when skateboarding, one pair in the commuter line that they are launching for cyclists, and one set-up that I collaborated with Nike on.

Basically, I have many opportunities to wear them in active scenes. I think the most attractive point of the lineup is the wide variety of products and, above all, the silhouette that fits the Japanese body shape.

I tried on the tamagged model for the first time this time, and I liked the freshness as a fashion item and the detailed workmanship that even vintage clothing lovers would appreciate. The silhouette is beautiful and satisfies the desires of those who like things, and yet there is even a selection of items that are easy to move in. It is definitely one that I can recommend.
