Hooked Vintage" deals in authentic vintage items, vintage clothing with a hint of mode, and furniture and objets d'art with excellent design, based on a solid aesthetic sense. Koba Ando, the store's buyer, says she first became attracted to vintage when she was in junior high school.
I started out in the military. I also liked western items. My hometown is in Miyagi Prefecture, and there are quite a few vintage clothing stores, so I used to go there often. My English teacher at the time was also a vintage clothing lover and opened his own store, and my brother also liked vintage clothing, so I was close to many vintage clothing stores.
As shown in these episodes, Mr. Ando used to wear military wear and western-style items at that time. I used to wear work-type pants as well," he says. While he coordinates his daily outfits with vintage clothing, he also has a mode of dress that is somewhat appealing.
I was drawn to items from the eastern part of the U.S. because of the relatively cool temperatures in the area. It's not so much pop, but rather a tone that is relatively the same as it is now. I like both country and fashion, so I ended up mixing them together.
Mr. Ando has been exposed to a lot of vintage clothing, and one of his favorite brands is Woolrich.
I wear it a lot in the winter because I like the cold (laughs). I am attracted to the texture of wool and the details of the outdoors, and when I think, "I like this," I buy from "Woolrich," and I am convinced, "I knew it. Wool has different textures depending on the item. The texture of wool varies depending on the item, and Pennsylvania is a really cold area, so the clothes have the feel of being from that area. It's very popular in the stores, and I can feel that people are attracted to the clothes without looking at the tags, rather than picking them up because they are "Woolrich.
Mr. Ando talks about the appeal of "Woolrich". We are curious about your impression of the "Woolrich Outdoor Label," which is designed with a modern essence while inheriting the individuality of the brand.
I felt that the designers must have been looking at a lot of archives. I can imagine that young people in their late teens can wear the clothes, and on the other hand, older people can also look good in them. I find it fascinating that they haven't lost sight of the essence of Woolrich.
Ando selected a padded fishing jacket and a denim lunch jacket as his favorite items. The way he wears these items is one of a kind.
Fishing jackets, I love them and wear them all year round. Woolrich I am attracted to the details of "Outdoor Label" items, which are comparable to vintage items. I can feel that the items are designed with the idea of how to make them modern without erasing the charm of the archives. And yet, it's not just for outdoor wear, it's also perfect for street wear. On the other hand, I chose the Ranch Jacket because I think it is a rare item in the Woolrich line. If you remove the collar boa, it has the feel of a tailored jacket, and can be worn in a fashionable way. I thought it would be a fun item for both people who usually dress casually and those who like high-end brands.
