The results of a day of fun!
As the rain, which had been holding off, intensified, participants disembarked to discuss the day's situation. One of the organizers, Mr. Ichikawa, editor-in-chief of "BEFORE YOU WAKE UP," reflected on the situation.
Ichikawa:Contrary to my expectations, most of the fish were small, but I was happy to catch a few. Some anglers kept throwing big lures, hoping to make a comeback, and each angler had his or her own style of fishing. There were some first-timers and some who have been fishing since the last tournament, so it was a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Finally, the much-anticipated awards ceremony will begin.
The "Daiwa Prize" was awarded for the size of the fish. Mr. Murayama, a Flagstaff designer, who caught a 36.5 cm fish early in the day, retained first place, followed by Mar-kun with a 31.5 cm fish, and Mr. Takahashi of Daiwa with a 31 cm fish in third place. The first-place pair of Mr. Murayama and Mr. Saisu will inherit the champion life jacket from the previous champion, Mr. Koyama.
The "Bakumon Prize" went to Mr. Yamamoto of BEAMS and Mr. Taguchi of Daiwa, who caught three fish.
The "Before You Wake Up Award" went to Mr. Yasuga of Timco, for his catch of a Nigoyi.
The Huinamu Fishing Club Award went to Goji and designer MOZ of STICKERS TOKYO, who had an assortment of camo-patterned shells.
Sobu Boat offered a discount boat ticket as a "no-fishing prize," and a rock-paper-scissors-scissors tournament was held.
Bakumon" came to a close with many comments from the participants about how much fun they had had. Fishing is fun by yourself, but it is even more fun with others, and the more people you share the same time with, the more fun you will have. If it's this much fun, maybe it's time to hold a fishing event for something other than black bass! See you again next time!
