You are publishing a book on December 11, right?
Bun: The essays are mostly newly written, and some of my old writings and poems will also be included. At the center of the essay are my thoughts on life in Tokyo. I received the offer at the end of last year. I started writing after the project was accepted around February of this year, and finished in August. I was very moved to be able to ask Hidenori Yoshioka of "September Cowboy," a favorite of mine, to design the book's binding and contents.
Mr. Boon's perspective on things is a bit nana, isn't it?
Bun: It's difficult to write in a straight line. I try to write in a slightly roundabout way, or not to be direct (laughs). I guess I am a bit twisted. That's partly because of my own personality, and partly because I've always liked reading books, and recently I've been following works on philosophy and thought, so I'm sure that has an influence on my writing.
I feel that the world is in an era in which it is difficult to take things head-on.
Bun: That's right. However, I want to be straightforward with people. For example, when I talk with visitors to my exhibitions, I want to be straightforward with them. People are sometimes surprised at the gap between my work and their true selves, but I want to keep that in mind. I feel comfortable with this process.
It is refreshing that you dare to enjoy the gap between the two.
Bun: We have all kinds of people come to visit us not only for exhibitions, but also for the store. I am happy that people take the time to come to my shop, and I want them to leave satisfied. When people say things like, "You talk a lot," it makes me happy, too. It motivates me to have people see my work in person, not just on the screen.
What is your favorite style of fashion?
Bun: I used to work in apparel before I started working at a bookstore, and I have always liked clothes, partly because of my parents' influence. Fashion changes my mood depending on what I wear. I enjoy it and wear a variety of clothes.

Bun: A long time ago, a friend gave me an outerwear item from Woolrich with a red and black check pattern. So this time, I decided to match it with a skirt of a similar pattern. It's a short outerwear, so it's easy for girls to wear. The silhouette is very unique, and it made me think, "I want to wear it! I wanted to wear it. The pocket details are cute, and it looks good with pants.
