What is your daily life like?
Kato: I like outdoor activities. I go fishing in the ocean, and depending on the time of year, I also go to pick wild vegetables. I also like cooking, so I cook and eat the food I pick. That is how I spend my time. I have been fishing since I was in elementary school, so I handle the fish myself, and sometimes I even hold the fish in my hands (laughs).
It's amazing that you can grip it.
Kato: I had been working part-time at a sushi restaurant for about seven years, and that's when I learned about it.
Have you been fishing for a long time?
Kato: It started when I was in elementary school. I happened to watch a fishing program and thought it looked interesting. Recently, one of my juniors at work said he wanted to fish, so I went with him and we caught a black sea bream, and I taught him how to handle and grip it at the same time. Some of my customers also like fishing, and we have a lot of fun talking about common topics. I just do it because I like it, but it has also become a communication tool for my work.
Is nature an integral part of your life?
Kato: That's right. This park is also located very close to my workplace, and I find it calming to see the green scenery. I sit on a bench during my lunch break and relax, or I come here after work to chat with my coworkers. I also go running here three days a week.
It's very healthy.
Kato: I like to eat and drink, so I try to move for that. Exercising in a place like this, where the sky is empty, still feels good. That's why I can keep going. When I go to work after running, my body is already active, so it is easier to work smoothly. I also feel this effect. Surrounded by many trees like this, I become more sensitive to the changes of the seasons, and I feel that this is connected to the richness of my heart.
What did you think of Woolrich Outdoor Label's clothes?
Kato: I took a look at the look of the lineup, and I felt that the clothes were derived from the outdoors, but could also be worn in the city. The details of fishing and hunting are skillfully fused with fashion. So it fits my lifestyle, and I feel like I can wear it and feel at home.
This time, we asked him to wear the "Melton Wool Cruiser Jacket.
Kato: The fabric has a heavy feel to it, giving it a tough impression. The solid construction makes you want to wear it hard. The details are classic and mature, and the game pocket on the back is a nice touch. The solidity of the fabric makes it feel heavy, but that is in proportion to the sense of security. Light and warm clothes are attractive, but I don't usually wear down jackets, so I prefer this kind of jacket.
What did you have in mind for the coordination?
Kato: I am usually conscious of not being too casual. Since I am wearing a jacket with a strong presence today, I kept the inside simple. The bottom is also in navy for a minimalist style. It would be nice to wear a shirt or something more formal, but since I usually ride a bicycle, this is just about right.
