FEATURE| Good Neighbors Jamboree 2016. end of summer memories.

Year 7. Morning in the Forest. . the curtain rises on the Good Neighbors Jamboree 2016.

. morning came. . we went to the forest school a little early, because we wanted to see how the seventh annual Good Neighbors Jamboree would start. The morning in the forest was a little cooler and smelled like summer vacation . Many staff members were already working quickly to set up the venue.

Good morning."

Greetings to Mr. Sakaguchi, the organizer of the event. . He is the person who directs the core executive committee members and volunteer staff, a total of 80 people.

Have fun!"

. 11:00 a.m., when the summer sun was just above us. With Mr. Sakaguchi's voice saying, "The doors are open," many guests entered the venue. Then came the Good Neighbors Jamboree opening ceremony. Everyone looked at the Jamboree flag hoisting stand. French cellist Robin Dupuis played the opening theme of the Jamboree, Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello No. 1 in G major, Prelude, live. Flags were flying in time with the graceful, deep tones. The contrast between the cicadas' chirping and the cello's elongated sound made our hearts pound, and we applauded as Mr. Sakaguchi said, "The 2016 Good Neighbors Jamboree, let's begin! ." to applause.

Laughter of adults and children . Just a wealth of content.

After the opening of the event, we spent time as we pleased. . If we were tired, we could lie down on the grass, and if we were hungry, we could eat. The beer, wine, and lemon sours quickly evaporated along with the perspiration, and the shaved ice, gyoza, yakisoba, paella, and doughnuts were just delicious. . I also talked and toasted with friends from Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kagoshima.

Wandering around the Jamboree, I found that there are really a lot of contents going on at the same time anyway. The entire event is divided into three concepts: "food court," "marketplace," and "workshop," and the location of the event differs depending on the content. The "Food Court" features 36 unique restaurants from Kagoshima, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Oita, Tokyo, etc., while the "Marketplace" has 16 apparel, craft, art, and book stores, and the "Workshops" include drum circles, sparkler making using sulfur from Iwo Jima, official There were 31 "workshops," including a drum circle, incense fireworks making using sulfur from Iwo Jima, mud-dyeing T-shirts, and a warabeuta (Japanese folk song) performance by UA, which will be featured in this year's event. 13 project projects included special classes by Hitoshi Okamoto and Yumiko Sakuma, a movie theater in the forest, and a project report meeting on small business support activities in Oita-Kumamoto. The school yard and school building were fully utilized and filled with various special events here and there.
